Since updating to 3.6.15 the search bar no longer works

I can type in the search box and suggestions appear, but when I click on search or press enter nothing happens. This is on a Windows 7 Pro machine with all updates. I have an XP [pro machine also and with Firefox 3.6.15, the search box works correctly. Can you help, I use the search box all the time..

I have restarted Firefox numerous times and have also rebooted the machine. I also re-installed 3.6.15 over the top of the original installation and nothing has helped.
