Firefox doesn't auto startup even though shortcut is in startup folder (windows 7)

I'm on windows 7 and have placed firefox shortcut in startup folder (by opening the folder and manually dropping a shortcut into the startup folder from the start menu).

This doesn't seem to bring up my firefox upon bootup. Still have to manually click on firefox icon to start program .

Would appreciate opinions why this doesn't work for me and advice on how to go about rectifying without messing around with reg.
