When typing in comments (primarily in facebook), if I select a misspelled word and then click on the correct spelling in the popup, it inserts the word in a different spot, often in the middle of another word, creating another error.

Windows 10, Firefox 40.0.2

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

I think another user is having this problem, judging from the screenshots: Spellcheck garbling words.

It may be that Facebook is moving the cursor in the interval between Firefox deleting the old word and inserting the new one.

I suppose I should get on FB and see if I can tell what's happening...

So I see this problem in the comment box for items in my news feed. I can't figure out the pattern of how far left the correction is inserted. It seems kind of random.

As a workaround, select the word you plan to replace before right-clicking it. That seems to prevent Facebook from inserting the replacement in a random location left of what you intended.

Hopefully they will fix this!!
