How to move to the top of a long page quickly?

While reading through a long web page, many a times I find that reading further is unnecessary and want to go back to the top of the page. The standard way of clicking on the top arrow on the scroll bar is too slow. I want to know if there is a faster (= immediate) way of reaching the top, by way of suitable hot key - say Ctrl + Up Arrow or a similar combination. In Mac the combination Command + Up Arrow does this. What about Windows? I thank all who would help me. - - arasan77

Hit the Home key on your keyboard, or hit PageUp (a couple of times).

@Xircal, Thanks for your very prompt answer. But hitting the Home key doesn't go all the way to the Top. It stops midway in the page and further operations of the Home key doesn't do anything. Hitting Page Up key needs to be done many times espy., when the page is long. The Apple Mac moves the page to the top INSTANTANEOUSLY. Also similar movements are possible to go the Bottom, Left or Right extreme by using the "Command" key with the Down, Left or the Right Arrows respectively. I wish to know if such a facility exists in Windows (mine is Vista Home Premium X32, with SP1 & SP2). I would be grateful if anybody could suggest such a comprehensive method. - - arasan77

You can try it with CTRL+Home to see if that improves matters.
