Today I thought it'd be a good idea to update my Firefox password with something newer and more secure. I have a lot of logins saved so just trying to be proactive. It turns out one password that isn't save however is my Firefox login. I'm signed in to it in the browser on my computer and phone but can't find it save anywhere. When I try to reset though it says that all my information like history, bookmarks, and logins will be lost. Some articles say that it will stop syncing, while others seem to say that it will be erased all together.

Is there any way I can avoid this? Somewhere where I can see the password for my Firefox account anywhere? It automatically logs me in on the website without issue so it has to be stored somewhere. Just not sure if it's somewhere I can view.

For my bookmarks it looks like I can create a backup and restore it, but my saved passwords would be a real hassle to try to type them all back in. Hopefully someone has been in this situation and found a way out without having to reset everything.

Oh ok so say I reset on my desktop I won't lose any bookmarks or passwords that were originally saved on my desktop computer? Then I should be able to resync everything back to my phone once I'm signed back in?

If you reset the password of the Firefox Sync Account then only data on the Sync server is removed. Data on all connected device is not affected, but you always need to be cautious if you reconnect devices. In principle you can store that password in the Firefox Password Manager, but that can only work if you still have the logins accessible on one of the devices. See also:

If you use Sync then best is to reconnect one device at the time and wait for the initial Sync to finish before connecting another device.
