New File save format

I have used Thunderbird for years and have always used the simple save format of "subject.eml". With a recent update T-bird now forces me to use another format which causes me to have to delete all the extra info and get back to my "subject.eml" format, so I can then personalize the format to my usual way of doing things. I find no place in T-bird preferences pages that would allow me to select my preferred way of naming my saved files. Would it be possible to have a 'Save Format' section, with "subject.eml" as one of the selections, then another that would include the new way T-bird has specified with recent updates? The new style takes a lot of extra time to delete all the unwanted info and include my personal preference for a save format? Thanks for considering this idea.
