looks like thunderbird upgraded itself overnight, now i can't receive emails

Using Thunderbird 38.1.0, which only appeared today. Server settings details are correct, can send emails fine. Can receive emails via webmail but not via Thunderbird. Just looks like the Get Messages button isn't working. Is there anyway I can revert to the previous version I had (whatever it was)?
