How do I remove SafePrice? And where did it come from?
This little bar keeps appearing at the top of my screen telling me there are better buys elsewhere. It's always wrong. I don't know where it came from. How do I remove the darn thing?

By the way, when I do a Google search for SafePrice many fingers point at AVAST as the carrier... https://www.google.com/search?q=firefox+safeprice

Hello,
Try running in safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Otherwise follow the steps below.
Check your list of install programs in Windows - Control Panel > Programs and Features. Usually malware comes bundled with other applications, so if you sort by date and see several applications installed at the same day, it may be easier to find suspicious applications that way.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
Did this fix your problems? If not, try posting in a forum specializing in malware removal:

Do you mean it appears on Firefox's chrome area (title bar down to the bookmarks toolbar), or in the content area (web page), or completely outside the Firefox window?

Yep, you're right. An online search revealed that Avast had gifted me with this little addition without asking my permission. There is a little box that has to be unchecked within the User Interface. It arrived as part of an update. Hate to change programs, but this may be the last straw.
