I have been using this system since 2008 through a company called Bluewave. They are shutting down at the end of May and I need full service for everything but main email. I need to talk (like on the phone) to someone who can help me in some way. I am not computer savvy so please have someone patient. Despite the fact that I have set Thunderbird to display messages as plain text, my needs are not being fully respected. If the message contains some form of markup, presumably HTML, the font size is not what I have chosen. Generally, the font size is smaller than what I have specified in the Thunderbird settings.

This is unacceptable. It is a usability / accessibility issue. If the user chooses Plain Text and sets a font size, they have done that for a reason. Which is accessibility. If Thunderbird ignores the needs of users and applies styling rules to messages, that is a failure state.

Is there some way to actually, truly, absolutely display all messages as plain text in a specified font, weight, and size? If not, what is the protocol for reaching developers so that they can respond to this issue?

Go to general -> config editor and set the following value to 1 browser.display.document_color_use = 1

The qr code displayed in the account transfer email from thunderbird is bigger than my pc screen. Snapping a picture with phone camera not possible. I employ visual accessibilities on pc as I am elderly and have tried to get emails to appear smaller. Cannot get entire qr image on screen.

I like to default to having threading on. It used to be that when I opened my Inbox, every email thread was closed/collapsed. Now they're open (started somewhat recently).

I can get numerous separate emails where each one can generate lots of responses, meaning they threads get long, sometimes within a few minutes or hours. Having them closed by default (rather than open or unthreaded) makes it to see each individual email chain and other interspersed single emails.

I tried google searching; also tried threaded and grouped by sort (with the default sort set to thread), and it doesn't seem to help. Any help would be appreciated!

Using Thunderbird, when updated to version 148 (64 bit) the highlighted color is dark and does not contrast to the text color (black) so it is hard to read. How to change the color? or the color of the text?

I do not know why but since yesterday I don't have the Orange Box in my Thunderbird home page to create a new message. I have to go into account and click on new message ( with a pen icon ). How do I get the orange box back. I have the orange area in the other pages like addresses, calendar, and the like, but not for new messages. How could I get it back because I installed a new copy of Thunderbird but it did not work. Thank you.
