TB address book has duplicate entries or other entries that will not delete or edit? Tried to even change the name. Close reopen and it reverts back to original. ??? Thanks for the help.

Thunderbird on my new Macbook Pro doesn't recognise the MacOs Contacts, it's empty. Do I need to run a complete new installation? (Also Gmail refuses to accept outgoing mail.)

I frequently need to send emails to around 30 recipients. In MS Outlook, it is possible to create a recipient group in the address book. Is there a way to do this in Thunderbird as well?

Thunderbird 170.7 My son's email address has changed. When I write to him, the old email address appears by default. I cannot delete it from the address book, and I can't change it or edit the address book entry. If I am not careful, my message gets sent to the old address. Nothing seems to work in correcting the problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated. John

I remember a time, where it was possible to simply drag a contact to a new mail to send it to friends. Shortly I wanted to send my wife a contact she lost, but it was no more possible, to attach it to a mail. Even an export of this single contact is not possible. Why?

I don't like to export the whole contact folder for her, because there are many contacts she will never use. So it should be possible to export 1 single contact as .vcf alone.

I would be happy, if the developers would rebuild this functionality for a future update. Thanks.

I create a new address book in Thunderbird. I add several email addresses to that book. I close Thunderbird at the end of the day. When I open Thunderbird the next day, the new address book has disappeared. Any idea what I am doing wrong, missing?

When I try to add a new contact the box is 3/4 off the screen to the right. there is a opaque square where the box should be, Ive tried the alt/space/m/arrow thing but that's not working, also tried every suggestion from chatgpt, nothing working, reinstalled with No change Win10

My Address Book appears to be old and out of date. There's at least 10 years of emails in there somewhere. Random old emails are there, but what's visibile is not really useful here and now. How can I restore at least some degree of usefulness?

It's possible to drag/drop contacts from To to CC or BCC.

It should be possible to do so across messages open in separate windows.

But when I try it, it fails.

An address book that I was using for years suddenly stopped working. It was called 'nachbarn'. I had to rename it to 'nachbarn@here', and it worked again. This is on Linux, and a week ago I have been using this list with its old name. But in betwen I changed my account from POP3 to IMAP, which may have contributed. Since there are plenty of complaints on the Internet, I'd suggest to change the plausi check for the address field, so that the address must either contain an '@' or be the name of a list or address book?

a power shortage messed up my computer and i had to re-install thunderbird. now when i type in the initial letters of an address that is in my address book, thunderbird no longer completes the address.
