I get this error ALL THE TIME from TB. Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp-mail.outlook.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again. Copilot says that TB is NOT recognizing my personal Outlook email account as a viable SMTP account. Been on line with Copilot for couple of hours without success. Does anyone at Mozilla have anything to offer me?

I made a folder and called it April. One day the folder just disappeared. No one seems to help me recover the folder and i need it. Once I moved emails into that folder they are no longer available in my inbox. SO if you know how to recover my folder help, or if you know how to recover emails that were sent to a folder, that would work also. I use Windows 11 and I have the most recent release of Thunderbird. I use Charter.net as my isp which is pop. Thanks,Charles

On my Linux machine, I exported the public key for an email address in Thunderbird 140.8.0esr (64-bit) into a file. I transferred the file to my Windows 11 machine via Warpinator.

On the Windows machine I am running Thunderbird 148.0.1 (64-bit). In Account settings>End-to-End encryption, I click Add Key>Import an existing OpenPGP key>Select File to import, and then I select the file.

I get an error message: Error! Failed to import file.

I'm surprised. I would think that going from one installation of Thunderbird to another would work this way. I am concerned that I won't be able to read incoming encrypted emails without the key working.

Can someone help me?

Good morning . . . I have recently switched from an old Windows 10 machine to a new macmini, and have switched my Office 365 account over to it. Simply stated, Outlook is not working, and I have no desire to continue with it. Will Thunderbird suit my needs? Will it allow me to import my old contacts and emails, both from my Windows machine and the new MacOutlook?

on my desktop computer when i click on a message thete is another window to the right of the message withe the opened up message. I can't get this to happen on my laptop computer.

I have several MS 365 accounts that I have added to Thunderbird to backup. Now that all the emails and data is in Thunderbird, I would like to deactive the MS 365 accounts completely as the company is closing down. I need to keep the emails as archives for several months in case of an issue, but the MS 365 account will no longer exist. Will Thunderbird delete all the emails once I deactive the 365 accounts or is there a way to store them permanently?

For record, I already tried to add them to my Outlook app on my Windows computer and back up a pst file, but it is not bringing over all the years of data like Thunderbird did. Only recent items.

Good morning; while trying to configure Thunderbird, I accidentally disabled the shortcut buttons I always use. Unfortunately, I can't find the location in the settings where I can re-enable them. I've attached a screenshot. I'd appreciate your help and pointing me to the right place. Regards.

I have a TB installation reading mail from a webmail set up. The files are in an inbox, 26,000 plus. They have also been transferred and readable in TB. They have the following format. Subject: [xxxxxxxxxx & yyyyyyyyyyyy zzzzzz ] New User Registration

Body text -

New user registration on your site xxxxxxxxxx & yyyyyyyyyyyy zzzzzz :

Username: selected_nickname9481

Email: username@provider.com

How can I extract or retrieve the "Username:" variables and "Email" variables in the Body text to set up a mailing list or Address Book. Thanks!

One of my two outlook email accounts no longer appears in Thunderbird, which says it is authenticated but not connected. This happened suddenly. I can still get the messages by going onto outlook.com. How do I get it back on Thunderbird?

I'm having a problem with my Google calendar on on of my Macs.

O have an M1 Mac Mini and I can access all of my calendars through that system. However, I also have a 2013 MacBook Air running Big Sur 11.17.10 and I can only access two out of my four calendars via Thunderbird 128.14.0esr on that machine.

The four calendars I have subscribed to are my personal calendar, US Holidays, Stardates (because I'm a Trek fan) and Phases of the Moon. On my MacBook, I can only access or view my personal and US Holidays calendars. The other two can't be found by Provider for Google Calendar.

Anyone know why this might be and how I ca fix it? Seems silly that an Provider wouldn't be able to access these calendars since the same version functions on both TB 128 and TB 140.

My folders used to show a yellow diamond when there was new email in the folder. The folder colour does still change to blue to indicate unread email. When I open a folder, the yellow diamond still shows up on new email, as well as the unread flag. What have I done? How do I configure Thunderbird to show that yellow diamond on folders with new email?

I deleted over 300,000 emails from my trash. It now tells me I have a couple thousand files left. however, before the massive delete, it said I was using 15 GB of storage. now, with only 2000 files left, it still says I have 15 GB used. I've tried compacting, but I get an error, saying I do not have enough memory to compact. How to I release all that memory that contains just ghost files?

I configured my account using the server's IMAP service. Every time I open Thunderbird, it asks me for the password of the calendar service of that IMAP service. But it doesn't have a calendar service. Even if it has, I don't want to use it.

I looked everywhere in the settings page, but could not find a way to disable it.

Why the app keeps asking me for the calendar service's password and how to disable it?

My company uses your email software and everyones email is not working. For example, my email (madison.l@valleyhha.com) does not allow me to send messages without an error popping up (Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders/Sent-madison.l@valleyhha.com.)

This goes for my entire staff of 20 people. Same error, also all my unread messaged in my inbox have now disappeared. Not only that but we are also not receiving any new emails either

I have created a new gmail address for my wife. Would like to add this address to my existing Thunderbird Mail account so that her emails also come to my Thunderbird email account. Not sure how to add her address to do this.. Thanks

I have the Thunderbird desktop installed on windows 10 computers that are blocked from any internet browsing. I am not able to find instructions on how to share calendars between computers.

I am able to export and import calendars between computers, but the events only show up in the side bar as tasks. We want to be able to edit the shared calendar from any computer.
