the app just asked me if i my experience was good and this is where the link brought me. The firefox mobile app on android is performing teribly over last few updates. websites take 1000x times longer to load some elements. it feels like the cache gets full after loading 10 images. youtube videos take nearly 30 seconds to load on gigabit internet. marketplaces just wont load images. it gets stuck buffereing images and videos. the easiest fix is to switch browsers which completely eliminates issues. this is happening on multiple android devices. either the code for this app is ruined or compromized. the problem is not on my linux or mac devices. I really have loved firefox up to this point, and its sad that after 1 month of questionable management the browser is starting to break down. i am now forced to switch just so i can use the internet. also side not if there was ever a way to get themes on mobile browser that would be nice.

Hello everyone,

While testing some fan-made game community websites, I noticed that Firefox handles them a bit differently compared to Chrome or Edge. For example, I checked https://nullsbrawl.tech/ (not an official site, just a community project) and saw that it loads more slowly and sometimes behaves differently in Firefox.

This made me curious:

Does Firefox have different handling for script-heavy or unofficial community websites?

What tools in Firefox Developer Tools would you recommend for debugging performance issues?

Are there guidelines for developers to make such sites more compatible with Firefox?

I’d love to understand more about how Firefox manages these situations.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello,

If the phone is not used for a while, it takes a very long time to open a page in Firefox. The bar immediately goes to about 25% and hangs. When it finally starts, it works. Sometimes it hangs during use, but usually the problem occurs after a long period of inactivity.

What I do know:

  • The problem does not occur with any other browser or application.
  • The problem occurs on different smartphones from different manufacturers running different versions of Android.
  • Deleting and reinstalling Firefox cleanly (without any add-ons) does not help.
  • Same problem over Wi-Fi as over cellular.
  • Turning Firefox off and on again usually does not help.

I installed Waterfox and for a while there was no problem at all. Then it appeared. I noticed that at least in Waterfox, the problem does not occur in private mode.

This is an unresolved issue that has been discussed before. https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1416241
