Since forever, in order to get a bookmark to open in a new tab, using about:config, I change the setting to 'True' (browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInTabs), and even set to true, it doesn't always open in a new tab?

I have a new mac, an M4 mini, and I set up Firefox the way I want it (the biggest ask has always been getting a bookmark to open in a new tab). Two days in, sometimes a bookmark opens in a new tab, and sometimes it doesn't. I have nothing else set up except for an ad blocker. I have not changed my OS from Sequoia to Tahoe yet, I strategically delay. It's not the end of the world. But I had strange things happen with Firefox on my other mini (an M2) in the last 6 months and I had to abandon Firefox and use Safari, which I hate. But that's a whole other topic. I've used Firefox forever, and it's my fave, and little things like this bug me. What am I missing? I set the option to False, and then reset it to True, and sometimes it works as it's supposed to, and sometimes it doesn't. So to not overwrite an open tab that has something important, I just automatically click on the 'command' key when selecting the bookmark. It's staying on my selection to 'true' and I've set it to false and then set it back to true, and restart Firefox, and I still get inconsistent results. There's nothing else that could be conflicting with this. I don't get it. Like I say, Firefox on my other mini just totally became unreliable and I had to use Safari. Any ideas? Thanks!

I thought I used to be able to access browser history from much longer ago, either way I can no longer see any history longer ago than 29/10/2025 is there anyway for me to restore, download or access older history, or has it been permanently deleted? I do still have a back-up of 28/12/2025 but I don't know if or where that contains history. I'm looking for data between 2019-06-01 and 2024-08-21. Weird thing is I remember accessing search history that old before... though I'm not sure how if if it doesn't store it for that long. Any help would be appreciated.

Where is "Just go to about:config and switch browser.tabs.groups.enabled to false"? All I can find is that response when searching for a way to turn off tab grouping in Firefox.

That tab grouping "feature" really is too much like modern software developers' tendency to roll out a new "feature" and turn it on automatically no matter how annoying some users may find it. Some times when a mouse cursor goes too far and wanders into that tab zone, Firefox starts grouping tabs. Please allow us to turn the thing off.

My browser was recently updated to 150.0.2, and on the new launch page after update describing new features, it prompted me that the new free mozilla vpn was available to try. When I clicked on the link to follow the steps to set it up, it said to click the vpn icon in the toolbar, but I don't see that icon there. When I go to more tools -> customize toolbar to try to find that icon to add it back, it doesn't appear among the toolbar options. Is this something I still don't have access to because it's in a limited beta, or is there some other way I should be accessing this?

After installing Mozilla on my mobile phone and syncing with my laptop all my bookmarks and history are GONE from my laptop. When attempting to restore them, following your suggested instructions, no dates appear when clicking the restore function. Deleted Mozilla from my mobile phone, still no good. Do I need to recreate all my bookmarks again?! How? When attempting to bookmark a new site it does NOT bookmark! No new history is showing either! Very disappointing, should I just return to windows again after years and years with Mozilla? Andrew S

It seems that a few days ago my Firefox was (involuntarily) updated in the course of another update (Linux): Previously, after Ctrl-S I could immediately start editing the name of the downloaded .html file, usually replacing it: the .html was retained, but the main part was highlighted and replaced automatically with the first typed character. Now one has to highlight the name with "select all" and also take care of the .html suffix. This is highly inconvenient if one wants to change the (usually) much too long names. Is there a chance (option?) to get the old behaviour back? (By the way, not connected with this change: It is annoying that Firefox silently changes `:` to `_´ in desired names though these are perfectly legal in Linux.) (and I would like to be able to use Firefox save to command from the command line.

I've pretty much exhausted my simple little mind about this problem. At some point around the beginning of the year, Firefox changed the fonts on all my toolbars to some ridiculously miniscule font. I've queried Google's AI several times, tried every solution I've received, all to no avail. Is there a way to do this? I just want to enlarge the font in all the toolbars, not the web site contents, and lock it in. Thanks to whoever can help me achieve this.

Love Firefox by the way... So, autocomplete in the search bar is often helpful, don't get me wrong, but it redefines the delete/backspace key to be context-sensitive. Now, sometimes it does what I expect and backs up one, erasing the character I just typed. However when autocomplete ghost text is present, that same key removes the ghost text only, leaving the character I'm intending to remove. This is enormously inconvenient as I now must watch to see what autocomplete is doing and adjust my behavior to comply. Were I designing I would not make the delete key dual purpose context sensitive, instead I would do both at the same time! Delete what I just typed and remove the ghost text. Safari started this, I complained and of course got no response. Subsequently I noticed the same behavior in Firefox. My suggestion, request, is that search delete key behavior not be decided for me. Either make this Safari behavior a settings option, by default is OK, so that I can choose, or (my preference) delete both ghost and previous character with a single keystroke! Best regards and keep up the good work. Dave

Hello. I have a problem with firefox lagging on high end pc, these are my specs for context: cpu - ryzen 7 9800x3d gpu - rtx 5070 ram 32 gb ddr5 6000mhz motherboard - msi b850 wifi 6e

i have a folder of bookmarks called "social media". When i want to check every website there (for example: telegram, discord, whatsapp), i start manually opening them up, so i hit the folder, click the needed icon, open new tab, repeat everything. And the moment i turn on 2 tabs like that, everything starts lagging. I don't think that my pc is the problem, because it is not even half a year old + it has good specs. Maybe there is a setting that i accidentally turned off/need to turn on to remove this problem? I love firefox, and i am using it for a while now, but now i am thinking about switching browsers because of this constant lag that happens. With all due respect, Emin.

P.S. i know that you can open all of the bookmarks right clicking the bookmark folder and then pressing "open all bookmarks", but most of the times i don't need to open all of the bookmarks, that's why i open everything as i said earlier.
