Links in my gmail do not work, but they work with chrome browser.

All of a sudden a few days ago, the links in my gmail would not work - a new tab comes up with gobbledy-gook, but I'm not taken to any site. When I read my mail using Chrome browser I have no problem. But I much prefer using Firefox. When I click in links in, for example, news articles there's no problem...just in my gmail.

I've tried to research it but it seems similar problems do not pose my specific problem.

I'm using Windows 7 and Firefox 43.0.1.

I'd appreciate any advice.

There have been a few recent reports about this issue. It appears to be an issue on Google's end, so there is nothing that Mozilla can really do about this issue at the moment.

Please consider contacting Google about this issue.

Thanks for your reply. I asked the question in the Google Gmail Forum, and somebody suggested I disable the add-on "Amazon Assistant For Firefox." It worked like a charm!
