"Enable Firefox health report" check box will not stay ON
I can't get the "enable firefox health report" to stay on. I click it and the box is checked when I close the preferences box but when i return the "enable firefox health report" is unchecked. I am certain that I have not accidently clicked elsewhere before closing the preferences box.
I want to send data back to Firefox as I want to support Firefox can you please assist with a method to ensure this is on and stays on.
Thanks Darren

Do you see any data if you open the about:healthreport page via the location bar?
Can you enable it via the Data Sharing button on this page?
If you do not keep changes after a restart then see:
The about:healthreport page is blank
When I check the prefs.js file permissions are set to Owner= read write Group= Forbidden Others= Forbidden
Here is the contents prefs.js file relating to the healthreport page user_pref("datareporting.healthreport.currentDaySubmissionFailureCount", 2); user_pref("datareporting.healthreport.lastDataSubmissionRequestedTime", "1370478436650"); user_pref("datareporting.healthreport.nextDataSubmissionTime", "1370482036649"); user_pref("datareporting.healthreport.pendingDeleteRemoteData", true); user_pref("datareporting.healthreport.uploadEnabled", true);
The profiles-ini file says Startwithlastprofile=1 but it only shows profile0 could this be the issue? [General] StartWithLastProfile=1
[Profile0] Name=default IsRelative=1 Path=dlmqtlm7.default
Hi cor-el, Do you have any other suggestion regarding this error please?
Many thanks for you assistance.
The value of datareporting.healthreport.currentDaySubmissionFailureCount = 2 would indicate that Firefox has a problem with sending the Firefox Health Report data.
user_pref("datareporting.healthreport.currentDaySubmissionFailureCount", 2);
Unix epoch 1370478436650 is Thu, 06 Jun 2013 00:27:16 GMT
Startwithlastprofile=1 means that this feature is enabled (1 == true), 0 would mean disabled (false), so this is OK.
Do you see any errors in the Error/Browser Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer;Ctrl+Shift+J) immediately after startup (i.e. before loading other web pages that may make messages in the EC disappear)?
Hi cor-el, There are some errors listed on Error/Browser Console but they do not relate to the Health report page.
I have checked about:config and noticed that the Health Report is listed as "datareporting.healthreport.uploadEnabled=true". Yet in the Preference-Advanced-Data Choices it is unticked. Are these related?
I do appreciate your help with regards to this and if you want we can just let this go as it is getting beyond my abilities to fix.
Thanks
The setting in Data Choices toggles the datareporting.healthreport.uploadEnabled pref.
There is also a datareporting.healthreport.service.enabled pref that can disable the Health Report service completely, but your list of non-default (user set) prefs from the prefs.js file didn't include it.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) (or hardware acceleration; not likely for this issue) is causing the problem, switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance.
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.
Hi cor-el I tried it in safe mode and the default theme but it still did not hold the health report setting. I also went into about:config "datareporting.healthreport.uploadEnabled" and also to "preferences-advanced-data choices-firefox health report" and clicked and unclicked the enable box. When I did this the "datareporting.healthreport.uploadEnabled" switched from true to false each time but when I closed the preferences box and came back in the "preferences-advanced-data choices-firefox health report" check box was unclicked each time but the "datareporting.healthreport.uploadEnabled" still reflected its last switched state.
Even thought the "preferences-advanced-data choices-firefox health report" check box did not reflect it, I think that the setting is still held by the state of the "datareporting.healthreport.uploadEnabled". So this still should send data back, do you agree?
