I am receiving spam emails from my own email address and need to put a stop to it asap please.
Hi as per above, for the last week I have been receiving spam emails from my own email address. Can anyone help me please to put a stop to this and also perhaps explain how it happened? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

Nothing from them yet, they say they are looking into it and that they have the same problem apparently. Only heard that from them today.
It may be worth trying to read the articles from the links ''iamjayakumars'' provided. If you are using outlook I imagine you will be able to copy the full emails including the important email headers.
I don't know how to copy the headers - what are they? Subject line? I can copy the email content though, would that help?
The headers are discussed in those linked articles and should help you determine where the emails really come from.

The headers are the bits of the email that you do not normally see. If you are using webmail and not downloading emails you probably do not see that information. It is not the sort of information an ordinary user is interested in. Quoting from a wikipedia article
An Internet email message[NB 1] consists of three components, the message envelope, the message header, and the message body. The message header contains control information, including, minimally, an originator's email address and one or more recipient addresses. Usually descriptive information is also added, such as a subject header field and a message submission date/time stamp. (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email_headers#Message_header and {scroll up for that quote} )
Note in particular it says
In the same way, the "From:" field does not have to be the real sender of the email message.
So it may be possible to spoof a senders address.
You probably need to look at the email using a source code option or open the file in a text editor.
I am really hoping that this time your email provider will be able to provide a better answer.
It would be a lot of trouble, but i guess something you could consider would be installing Thunderbird https://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/switching-thunderbird and then using their support forum to see if answers could be provided.

It is certainly worth trying if that is not an address that you receive legitimate emails from.
Also edit your post above in this forum the headers where it shows your own email address and change it to something like "me@provider.com" so that you are not disclosing information in this thread.
You may have the problem of others reporting you as sending spam but as long you have been in contact with your own email provider that should not be a problem. And I suppose you may also get some of those recipients contacting you directly.

Totally uknown address so I will block it. Just need to find out how to do that but am sure service provider should be able to help me there

I deleted my whole address book when this started happening so as far as I know, no one has received spam from me. Do hope that is the case. :)) Thank you again John. I will implement blocking the addresses and if the spam stops I will report this issue as SOLVED! :)))
