All of my bookmarks have disappeared. I have tried all of your suggested remedies with no luck. PLUS I can't even new bookmarks. What's going on?

The day after Thanksgiving I had access to all of my bookmarks. There were no updates I entered for Firefox. In the late afternoon I tried to continue my work and all of my bookmarks had disappeared. I thought it was just a glitch. Went directly to the site and tried to re-enter my bookmark and Firefox will not accept it. What is going on?

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
