Can I disable some websites (f.ex. adult content), and if, how?

Children find all sorts of stuff from net that they didn't need to, for example pornography. Can I disable these sites somehow ("for adults only")? Or so that it would need a password or something?

You can use this extension or the eficient way add the host to system hosts file. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/blocksite/contribute/roadblock/?src=addondetail&version=0.7.1.1

there are also web filtering software packages that you can buy that have in depth options for filtering content across all browsers and content on a computer.
