Pop ups from bank being blocked

bw.brookes

I'm unable to pay for services as it seems the popup from my bank notifying me to expect a text message with a validation code isn't appearing. I've unchecked "Block pop-ups and third-party redirects" restarted Firefox but still the same. This happens with multiple websites. I've also disabled some but not all of my extensions. Only recently started. Changed browser (MS edge) works fine.

OK. No problem here with Win 11 and Fx 154.0.1

have you tried clearing cookies and site data etc. for the problem site?

Thanks for replying. Yep, cleared all the cookies etc. I've now had the same issue with another site. It's definitely the banking "we'll send you a passcode" popup that's not being displayed.

It's a recent problem. I've shopped online using FF without any problems prior to this. I have FF on my table and laptop so I suppose logic says try both of those and see what happens.

I'm tempted to backup bookmarks etc and delete/re-install FF to see what happens unless you have any other suggestions I can try.

I really don't want to switch to another browser, long time FF user but I have to be able to buy online.

Try switching to Troubleshoot Mode (from Help menu) that skips some of your customizations — to see if that's the culprit.

Seem to have done the trick. Can I leave this post open until I've had more chance to verify it's fully working. Do you have any suggestions as to what might be the likely cause

Potentially addons, esp. anything "privacy" related — content blockers, noscript and similar; it could however be even just an unfortunate interaction with readability, content or productivity extensions — so depending on your addon setup I'd disable them all, and try enabling one by one to see if you can pinpoint the culprit.
