Downloaded Firefox but I don't think it replaced Safari?

I have an older Mac desktop. I received a message on my gmail acocunt that my browser is no longer supported. I found that Firefox will support Big Sur 11.7.11 so I downloaded it. I am older and not tech savvy. Went to "what is my browser.com" and it shows I still have Safari?

Where did I go wrong?

The desktop Firefox web browser and Safari web browser on macOS are separate.
