VPN not finding proxy server

Just found Firefox's (v149.0) VPN button in my toolbar. I turned it on and entered whatismyipaddress.com. I got the message

"Unable to find the proxy server. Firefox can’t connect to the server at whatismyipaddress.com"

If I turn it off FF brings up the page correctly. I get this error msg for any other urls I try to bring up. Ideas?

Hi

- You have other proxy extensions? Open a Private Window. Try turning the VPN on there. If it works, check your extensions.

- Firewall or Antivirus? Temporarily disable your system firewall or antivirus. If the page loads, you'll need to "allow" Firefox VPN in your security software settings.

If you are on a work or school network, the network administrator might be blocking VPN protocols entirely.

Are you using any other security software or add-on or extentions?
