I use Mozilla's Firefox as my default browser. I recently noticed as I surf the Internet, Bing surreptitiously intercedes for Firefox. Why is this? How does this happen? There is nothing I can do to stop it, or change it. Why? I do not want that. Is that okay with the folks at Mozilla?

Hi

It sounds like you are referring to the default search engine in Firefox. This support article may help you to change this:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-your-default-search-settings-firefox

Note that Firefox is a web browser and not a search engine. A search engine is for example google.com, duckduckgo.com, bing.com etc.

You can change to another of the default options Firefox comes with or add another as the KB article above shows. On a rare case there has been some extensions upon install or extension updates changing the search engine to be used in Firefox.
