Today, as a change, when I open a webpage from the bookmarks toolbar, the new page does not include the toolbar - to get to the toolbar, I have to open a new tab or restart - is there a way to fix this in Settings?

I know, have been using Firefox for years, and this is new this morning. I run Firefox on two PCs, and it is only on this one, just starting today, after the latest update, but not on the older one, although I have them on the same user account and they are otherwise synced.

The Bookmarks Toolbar is a bar that appears below your browser’s address bar, letting you quickly access your favorite or most-used websites with a single click.

Hi Marc,

It sounds like your bookmarks toolbar isn’t staying visible when opening a new page. A few things to check:

Toolbar settings: Go to the menu → Customize Toolbar and make sure Bookmarks Toolbar is set to “Always Show” rather than “Never” or “Only on New Tab.”

Restart Firefox in Safe Mode: Sometimes extensions or themes can interfere. Click Help → Restart with Add-ons Disabled and see if the issue persists.

Check for updates: Make sure Firefox is up to date, as some UI bugs get fixed in newer versions.

If the problem continues, it could be a profile-specific issue. You might try creating a new Firefox profile and see if the toolbar behaves normally there.

That fixed it.
