Allowing location tracking

When I access a location-aware website, I'm asked if I'll allow it to use my location. My problem is that the pop-up window won't allow me to do anything. I can't block, allow, close the window — nothing. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere?

I'm on Windows, and for me that box is positioned more like a drop-down from a location icon in the address bar. I don't know why yours is so high up and I wonder whether that is part of the issue of the controls being unresponsive (i.e., the click zone doesn't match the display). ??

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the Default System theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window
