Many common words missing in FireFox spell checker
I once found a live bug opened for this, but I don't find it anymore.
The spell checking dictionary, as many pointed out, is horrible. It lacks tons of common words, as well as commonly used tech,internet, you name it - jargon words.
Is there (there should be) a repository to add missing words? Through my usage I add words to my private dictionary. Would be shame not to use this as part of this bug handling.

When the spell checker shows a red squiggle line under a word, it means that word might be misspelled. By right-clicking on the word, you get a list of possible correct spellings. Also, if the word is spelled correctly, doing a right-click should have a choice to add that word.
Make sure you are using the correct spell checker. First, check its language.
May I suggest;

This has northing to do with my question.
Firefox only comes with a basic spell checking dictionary with only commonly used words and not many specialized word.. You would need a very large file to include all possible technical and other science terms what probably would have impact on the responsiveness.
You probably mean this bug. Please read the bug to see what kind words have a chance to get added to avoid unnecessary noise on the bug.

As discussed in the thread I mean to (it's not the thread you mentioned) the inbuilt dictionary is lacking severely in US-English too. The issue of required space was also discussed there and it's a non-issue.
humoristic, genderism, pre-designated, storyline, sociopathy, intercoursing, elderlies, zoophile, legendaries are US-E words.
I will try again to locate said bug thread. People here should know it exists.
My problem appears to be unresolvable using the right click/add word, or even by editing persdict.dat directly. I am trying to add the phrase de facto, finally by editing perspict.dat with a text editor. Firefox nevertheless refuses to recognize it as correct. And, as I am typing this message, I am now being told that "unresolvable" itself is not correct. I have checked two famous dictionaries, and yes, it most certainly is.
