
Impossible to send and receive gmail mails
Hello I have installed Thunderbird a few days ago, because my outlook version was no more compatible with my new IMAC (Mac OS Mojave 10-14). I stay with the pop system because I dont really understand the other system, and I fear to loose all the mail I have (rather numerous), I already have losen all those which was rank in files because of a crash on my old Imac, before it died.
Thunderbird seems to function, except for 1 thing: I cannot send and receive normally mail to and from gmail adress. I make tests sometimes, in sending a mail from my main professionnal adress (maison-des-suds@wanadoo.fr) to my personnal gmail adress: most of time, it never arrives. This morning I have send a mail at 10 am to my gmail adress, for the 1st time it arrived, but at 11.30 pm...
Here the message I receive for others mails (always the same, including for the name of the Orange server):

Could you help me? A lot of my professionnal contact have gmail adresses, and I must use my laptop (still with outlook) to send mail, or sending them from my personnal adresses. Thank you in advance. Fabienne

Your 1st remark: I continue to receive others mails on my webmail gmail, there is no size problem, I also can send mails from gmail to differents adresses, including my wanadoo adress. It seems that the problem really comes from the sending by Thunderbird to gmail: the sending to others adresses is normal.
Your 2nd remark: I send 2 captures of 2 messages undelivered. The lone difference, since the 1st days, is that at the beginning, I have all those messages of undelivered mail. Since this morning: I haven't the undelivered message, but the 2 test messages I send from wanadoo adress to my personnal gmail adress take 2 then 4 hours to arrive ... I did'nt try to send a message to someone else with a gmail adress.

just a guess, orange.fr have themselves blacklisted for spam again probably. Have you asked Orange why they can not deliver your mail?
Thank you Matt Yes I have contacted Orange, an adviser, then a specialist, but I have no answer. But I can send mail to others adresses... I checked and compare the mail settings of my laptop/outlook, with the mail settings of Thunderbird, and I don't see any difference (incoming and outcoming server). I tried others tests: from maison des suds/outlook to gmail, I find the mail in the file "mails sended", but i'm still waiting the reception of the gmail webmail From gmail/webmail to maison des suds: it is OK, mail well received

How many emails have you got stored on the gmail server ? Logon to gmail webmail account and check the 'All Mail' folder. If you have a gmail pop account, it will not be properly deleting emails, so you may have used up the quota and until email is deleted off server, it cannot receive more emails. So when gmail periodically auto remove some emails from junk/spam (or empty Trash), it creates a bit more space so it can receive another email in Inbox. You might need to delete a lot of emails in that gmail account - the emails (possibly a load you thought were previously deleted, but actually only had labels removed) may only show up in the 'All Mail' folder.

re: diagnostic-code: smtp; 421-4.7.0 This message does not have authentication information....
Gmail uses a security policy which blocks or delays any email coming from domains that do not use domain authentication methods, such as SPF, DMARC, and DKIM. So if all of that is ok.... I'm wondering if gmail thinks someone is spoofing your email address, perhaps this has something to do with the smtp server settings you are using.
that.* @wanadoo.fr email address is using an smtp server to send emails. What are the outgoing server smtp settings you are using? You could post an image showing them.
Are you using these:
- server name: smtp.orange.fr
- port: 465
- Connection Security: SSL/TLS
- Authentication Method: Normal Password
- User name : full email address
Also, are you using a 'Reply-to' in the email you are sending...if yes, then remove it for testing purposes.
The server was this one, but the setting was withoutSSL. I move to the setting you recommended, I restart the computer, I made a new test in sending a mail from wanadoo to gmail, and the result is the same, even worth: I sent the mail at 8pm, it is not yet arrived at 1 am.
And I realized that, finally, there is the same problem on the both computer. I answered to a mail of a work group from my laptop (outlook!, I forgot that several members had a gmail adress. And I received the undelivered mail message, corresponding to the 7 gmail adresses....
So I suppose it is really a problem of Orange settings...
