When I try to paste something into a comment, I get this:

"16.00 Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin-top:0in; mso-para-margin-right:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:6.0pt; mso-para-margin-left:0in; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:16.0pt; font-family:"Arial",sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;}"

How can I stop this?

Chosen solution

From what software are you copying this text?

That looks like a problem with MS Office software (mso) that places CSS code and possible other attributes on the clipboard. I'm not sure why you would get this if you paste this in a plain text area like used on this forum, I would expect to only get this code when you paste in a rich text editor (WYSIWYG). Microsoft Word is known to add such 'garbage' to the clipboard.
