I have a very old (~2008) Firefox sync account that I would like to access. I know my email and password. But the password is 6 characters, and the new minimum requirement is 8 characters. The login form will not allow me to login with my old password due to the form validation, and if I perform a reset, I will lose data I am looking for. So, I need to know how I can access my old account.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Thanks for the quick and helpful replies. I guess it's time to say goodbye to those 20 bitcoin. I had saved the key as a password, and wasn't really too bright at that age in regards to backups. :(

Live and learn, I suppose.

The old Sync 1.0 / 1.1 server which was used in Firefox 28 and earlier no longer exists; thus that old data is gone.

About a year after Firefox 29 came out (which uses a new Sync v1.5 server) the older Sync 1.1 sever was shut down and during that overlap time two Sync servers were in use. Users who created a new Sync account for Firefox 29+ could still use the old server exclusively with their old Sync account with their older versions of Firefox, for the benefit of users who were on the ESR (Extended Support Release) version of Firefox.

yeah, unfortunately any data associated to an old-type sync account is already lost - its servers were shutdown three years ago: https://blog.mozilla.org/services/2015/07/31/shutting-down-the-legacy-sync-service/
