How/where can I see (on any page) that FF really IS my browser ?

I've been on the internet for a little over three months now;   my laptop's operating system is Windows 10.
I don't like Edge/Bing one bit, so I chose Firefox/Google instead.
But what bothers me:  I can't actually   see   anywhere that FF is even present;  I would settle for just the FF-icon   ......
The only time I can tell that FF really  ís  my browser, is when I'm on a site, dealing with mixed content, or when   'I've done something wrong'   .......
While going over the questions and answers here  (for me a good way to learn)   I come across something like:
Disable the Protected Mode feature of the Flash plugin on the Add-ons page   .......
Apart from the fact that I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around the computer-jargon  (but I'm working on that):
I'm supposed to do  what  ?   where   ? ..........  (I'm supposed to be doing this   to FF).
I just don't know where Firefox is;  I know FF is my browser, but I'd like to say: hey, show  yourself   (a Firefox-icon above the address-bar would be nice).  Am I making any sense   ?   At all   ?
I hope this screenshot helps make clear what I'm on about   .......

Chosen solution

When screens were boxier, back before anyone watched movies on their computers, Firefox had a persistent top bar with the Firefox logo design in the upper left corner (Firefox 1-3.6), and then for a time, the word Firefox emblazoned on an orange button (Firefox 4-28).

In Firefox 29, the top bar was hidden by default to make more space available for the web page. If you want to experiment with turning it back on, you can use the Customize tab and click the Title Bar button. See: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.

If you do not want to give that much space over to the top bar, you could experiment with Classic Theme Restorer, which is something of a time machine allowing you to mix and match different Firefox looks from over the years, or you could choose a distinctive background image for the toolbar area.

When you deliberately start Firefox, possibly via a desktop shortcut, you don't know where it is? You literally staring at it.

Am I making any sense  ?

Not really. At least I don't understand what you're trying to achieve. If you need some sort of confirmation you're really using Firefox:

At the top right of the Firefox window, click the menu button , then select Help (the question mark at the bottom of the menu) > About Firefox.

I come across something like: Disable the Protected Mode feature of the Flash plugin on the Add-ons page

Why exactly do you need to mess with this? Unless you do have a specific reason, leave it alone. Just make sure you always have the latest version of Flash installed. https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

Hello Christ1,

Are you deliberately being rude to me    ?
If you don't understand my question,   why bother to reply  ?
Now I'm even feeling more ignorant than I already did   ........
Thanks a lot   !
Nevertheless:  have a nice day.

Hopefully whoever posted that gave the full steps...

You can disable it using the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Plugins. On the right side, find "Shockwave Flash" and click the More link. Then uncheck the box for "Enable Adobe Flash protected mode". If Flash is being used in any open tabs, this will take effect after all Flash has been unloaded for at least three minutes, or you can exit out of Firefox and start it up again to be sure.
