Why are all messages for several hours not downloaded. Windows 10, Thunderbird 38.5.1, comcast.net, sleeps after 2 hours.

I leave the PC on. It is set to sleep after 2 hours. Normally all of the messages received overnight display when I wake the PC up, but occasionally there is a large block of messages that are received on my iPhone but not downloaded to Thunderbird. This morning there were about 25 messages missing between 9:25 pm and 6:30 am.

Chosen solution

All messages downloaded normally this morning. So restarting windows in safe mode must have done the trick. Thank you!

Start *Windows'* safe mode with networking enabled - win10 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/change-startup-settings-in-windows-10 Still In Windows safe mode, start thunderbird in safe mode - http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/safe-mode

Received the following banner after selecting safe mode with networking enabled: "This app can't open Microsoft Edge can't be opened using the built-in Administrator account. Sign in with a different account and try again." Tried again to open Edge but kept getting the same message. Without Edge opening I can't start thunderbird in safe mode and I don't know how to sign in with a different account so restarted to return to normal Windows 10.
