When creating a "New Event" I select "No reminder" save and close but reminder is still active and icon appears in the calendar next to the event.

I have to then edit the event and change the setting which has somehow changed from my selected choice of no reminder to custom.

Sorry - first post here - hopefully I followed protocol.

Is there a way to update existing calendar appointments by using an updated ics-file? We have appointments that are placed in the Calendar of Thunderbird, and there need to be modifications made over time. These appointments can be in the past, present, or in the future.

When trying to import a modified file, by just updating 'DESCRIPTION', and using the same ID, Thunderbird throws the error of: mail.import: : ID already exists for addItem

We need to be able to access the same appointment, and we do that from an external database.

Hi, Why can't I see or find the calendar in Thunderbird anymore? Is it no longer appearing next to "New Message" like it always did? I have a lot of recurring events on it from the many years I've been using it, and I need to add more events. Please advise. Thanks

Getting an error message when i get a notification of an event...ie: birthday coming up... when i click on dismiss. I get this error message:

Server Replied with 400

If you’re seeing this message after snoozing or dismissing a reminder and this is for a calendar you do not want to add or edit events for, you can mark this calendar as read-only to avoid such experience in future. To do so, get to the calendar properties by right-clicking on this calendar in the list in the calendar or task view.

 I follow direction and make my calendar read only but it does not fix the problem.  I continue to receive the error message.
 Anyone have any ideas how to fix?

I use Windows 10 with the task bar on the Left side with added tool bars for lots of quick links which makes the task bar wide. When I copy & paste in Calendar the paste window is under my task bar. Why do you have the paste window always placed at the 0,0 window position?? Can I change the position? I will be using Win 10 for along time. My other notebook is on Win 11 where I use StartAllBack enabling me to have the same left task bar.

I am setting up an I select "Invite Participants" the pop-up screen locks up.

I have tried to change accounts one at the time with no luck. I also selected the "Attendees" tab near the bottom of the pop-up. That did not help either.

This is running on a Windows 11 Home operating system.

Any help would be appreciated.

PS - I moved from Microsoft Outlook to Thunderbird as I did not like the new Outlook. This has been very frustrating.

Hello. I regularly sign up for online conferences, then when I get the confirmation email with the details I can't transfer it to the calendar. I even tried saving the ical event separately but when I try opening it using Thunderbird I get an error message. The only way I found is to transfer the contents manually and create an event on calendar, which is time consuming. Anyone knows how to fix this? Thank you in advance

When I create an event, I choose No Reminder. When the event comes dur, I get a reminder. When I edit the event it ha a 'Custom Reminder'. I can't find where to turn this off.

I have 3 different email accounts. My calendar was associated with the main account. Now for some reason it is associated with the second account. It is also not showing on the day/date calendar area, but does show on the event area of the calendar. It is associated with the second of my accounts, not the first.

Any ideas?

Not sure where to post a feature request, but I use a scheduling app (Playtime Scheduler) that consistently offers ics files with an empty LAST-MODIFIED field. So I have to manually edit the ics file every time before it can import into my calendar.

Would it be hard to make Thunderbird ignore an empty field like that and import anyway?

I have this issue with my reminders for peoples' birthdays. I have an event on their birthday that comes from my Google contacts. That event has a reminder 1 week in advance. When the 1-week mark hits, I get an undismissable notification from Thunderbird. I can close the reminder window, but it'll show back up within a minute or two. I've tried removing and re-adding this calendar but it doesn't matter. When I look at the details for the event, I see that the Organizer field is Unknown Organizer <unknownorganizer@calendar.google.com>. My regular email address is listed as an attendee. This has been happening for at least the last several months, perhaps more than a year.

I imported a US_Holiday. ics calendar file in to Thunderbird/Lightning. How do I remove the all of the events that calendar imported? It has junked up my regular calendar with not wanted holidays and observances.

I have noticed that when a .ics file is not able to be manually imported into Thunderbird via the Events and Tasks there is a way to get it to import. Simply edit the filename of the .ics file to something very short (like less than 8 characters). I'm not sure why longer and more complex .ics filenames fail but shortening the filename almost always works.

Successfully added monthly-repeating event for the first day of each month beginning at 00:00 hour with duration 0:00. These events correctly appear in another calendar (Google). This also shows there is no confusion between 'monthly' and '4-weekly'.

In Thunderbird's Calendar display, these events do not appear in day, week- and month-view modes, when the first of the month is the first day to be displayed. When the first of the month is positioned further into that view-mode's display then that repeating-event is correctly displayed.

The above happens in Thunderbird's Safe Mode with all add-ons disabled.

I've asked this before to no response. I JUST did a new search and found a users solution that I just tried to no avail. Which was to add the Provider for Google Calendar Extension, then unsubscribe and resubscribe to my Calendars! The old W7 version of the Calendar had the ability to have a Reminder EMAILED to oneself! That option with the new W11 version has disappeared! Can someone please ask the Coders to re include this option! THANK YOU! I 'LIVE" by this option! My Iphone 3rd party Calendar thankfully still has this option! But I would LOVE to have this back on my W11 Laptop in the Thunderbird Calendar!
