Firefox just updated a few days ago to version 149.0. Prior to, no issues. Now every time I enter a search term and hit enter. A new tab opens and the page is blank. It only happened after the update. Closing the tab and doing the same thing again opens a new page correctly.

I would like to know why doesn't Firefox Desktop support using a different search engine for private windows? I have the option on my phone and tablet but its not supported on desktop. I just want to know if I can provide a suggestion to add this option about this. Thanks!

How do l get rid of yahoo which has taken over my laptop after trying to get flight tracking last week? I have always hated it and it is stopping me searching with Firefox. I am old & not too tech savvy.

None of the topics seemed to match my issue so I selected "Browse".

In FF 153.0.1 on W11 64-bit, after Firefox updated to the latest version my Alt+D does not work. Ctrl+L still works. In Incongnito, Alt+D DOES work. However, in regular browsing it does not work, even after I have disabled all of my extensions. I don't know why it's not working or what I could do from my end to try to get it working.

I recently purchase s new Dell desktop computer with Windows 11, my preferred search browser is Fire Fox i have used it for years and like it. Recently when i make a search with Fox Fire the answer for the search is with another search engine, example: Yahoo, Google, Edge or other. I don't recall this with the old windows 10 why is the happening and can I change this ?.

Any search entry gets the following return:

Secure connection failed

I'm running Windows 11 Pro on a desktop PC. I have used Firefox "Search by Image" many times and I haven't had a problem in the past. A few days ago the search failed for "some" images and now it fails for any and all images that I drag and drop into my browser. Important: It does work for images on the internet. My problem: (1) I drag and drop an image into my browser. (2) I right-click on the image. (3) I select "Search by Image". (4) I select a search engine. Absolutely nothing happens. I've tried with various images and various search engines. Still nothing happens. I don't think I'm doing anything different than I've always done. I haven't changed any settings in Firefox. Any ideas?

perhaps if you just had a few empty boxes so someone could write in the name of the search engine and firefox would know the complex URL's connected to the name of the search engine.............

I tried to use Firefox as my search engine but that didn't work so I re-downloaded DuckDuck, but the address bar say "search with google". I use to have DuckDuck but deleted it because I got tired of sites wanting to know my location. How do I get rid of that. I've tried all options in the settings file. I would prefer

I am trying to change my default search engine to Firefox and it isn't allowing me. What could be preventing this? and how do I get around it? Thank you in advance for your help.

I have Brave set as default search engine. I type in the address bar, hit enter, and always get a Brave screen with "404 Nothing matches the given URI". I downloaded the Brave browser and the problem goes away. But I prefer Firefox as my browser, so I'm hoping there is an easy fix to this.

Recent builds have changed the way that the user can direct queries to the various search engines that can be added (i.e. eBay, Wikipedia, IMDB etc) - to a new configuration that is awkward and forces more clicks.

Here is the method that currently allows reverting to the previous approach :

in about:config

Set string "browser.search.widget.new: to false

... and to delay automatic deletion of engines set "browser.search.widget.removeAfterDaysUnused" to thousands
