Can't select text or click and or follow a web link in text messages

When messages are sent with information to place in a web browser to register the phone for access to specific sites there is no way to either select the website link and copy it and or click the link and be redirected to the website via the firefox browser. Is this functionality available? Would be nice to be able to do this so I don't have to write the information down and then type it in on the tiny keyboard.
