How to remove the update on Oct 13 2026

dwightrph

It is really sad that there is no way to contact mozilla directly The update installed on my Windows 7 64 bit is now storing cookies for Proton Mail and that makes the storage amt increase from 29Kb to 78Kb and I am not happy that I can not find a way to remove or revert the update so detail steps to complete that process would be nice. As for my future use of Firefox and involvement with Mozilla I am very seriously considering NO further use of both and your claims are starting to become lies you are permitting tracking in my view of this behavior Community Members should not be dealing with these concerns GET OFF your lazy back side Mozilla

Hi

I should explain that volunteer contributors do a massive amount to make Firefox happen, from writing the code to localising everything got many locales to people like me here trying to help provide user support.

Please appreciate that the version of Firefox that you have installed is over three years old and only gets the most important security updates. You will increasingly find that it will be harder to use some websites over time.

I recommend that you consider updating your device to use a modern supported operating system and the latest copy of Firefox.

Paul I have always greatly appreciated the contributions volunteers provide. YES I have a Windows 10 Dell but my daily driver is a Widows 7 Dell precision T7600 But the Security update is making decisions that I did not permit and that is a little more than upsetting so that is really the issue

Now I can use system restore to remove 115.43.Oesr that will take me back to 115.42.Oesr So the question NOW is how do I STOP all further updates to Firefox ? I see no options for that. All so why the increase is storage from 29Kb to 78Kb I am assuming this is connected to Proton Mail accounts. and when I close the cookies are not being deleted sorry I see that as a code failure linked to the update

The recent Firefox 115.43.0esr update was for multiple security fixes https://www.firefox.com/firefox/115.43.0/releasenotes/

Other web browsers based on Chrome/Chromium dropped support of the old EOL Windows 7, 8, 8.1 back in Jan/Feb of 2023.

The older Firefox 115 ESR channel is based on the old Firefox 115 Release.

About updates, take a look at https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/discussions/upgrade-notification-spam/m-p/64080/highlight/true#M22529 Note : Enterprise Policy Generator Works with firefox 140.0 and higher versions.

You can try DisableAppUpdate

My Firefox updated today too and now constantly freezes up. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall and still nothing. Literally everything I do online, I use Firefox for everything so being forced to get Chrome just to get support is grinding my gears.

I have been using this on Widows 7 desktop as a short cut I did not install it so far it stops cookies from Google and is a reasonable when it comes to search results

https://www.startpage.com/ I really just created a shortcut for the URL above and did not grant any permissions when using it to search

I appreciate the link, but my main problem is the browser not loading and not a search engine. My private and work social media, emails etc are all on FF and I need access to it.

Have you considered using restore What version of Widows are you using ? Do You Have a BackUP strategy like AMOEI or any other ? before you do any restore get a backup protocol in place

I Use AOMEI free and do a system and disk backup every 2 months to a portable USB hard drive by Toshiba they are inexpensive and fast as they are USB 3

One other thought What email provider are you using gmail ? I would highly recommend Proton Mail https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proton_Mail Some of the features are paid but the free stuff with a backup plan is great in 10 years of using this I have never had one spam email I have multiple free accounts (email address) one is for shopping Banggood in China another is just for Amazon do very little on line connection to my bank which is Chase which I do not share anything with Good luck
