Email search limited to 10 results. Can this be changed?
Sometimes a search term will pull up many emails I need to sift though, like in the case where it's a common word, like permit. I was searching the term "permit" for building permit emails and got many unrelated emails that were more recent with permit in the email body. I am able to quickly skim and see these are unrelated but the limiting factor is only ten results per page. When I click load more, takes a few moments to load. I was unable to find any way to change this. How can it be done? Should be possible, it's doesn't affect Mozilla's processing because everything is done locally on my machine. I would much rather 100 results to load or to load indefinitely.
Additional question: on that search term, many unrelated emails came up as mentioned before. When I searched the same term in gmail in my internet browser, only relevant emails came up. Why is this? How do I improve the thunderbird search?

You seem to be using global search. At the top right of the first list of results, click "show results as list".
Using "search messages" (control+shift+F or command+shift+F) will also present all the search results at once.
Oh, "search messages" (control+shift+F or command+shift+F) may also be the answer to your second question because it allows more specific search criteria.
Thank you, this is helpful.
The global search and "search messages" also seem to search differently. Global search found zero relevant emails while "search messages" was essentially 100% relevant. I think this may be because variants in the global search were found such as as permitted, permitting, etc. This can still be useful but I would need to be able to change that 10 per results page cap because it generates a lot of noise. 10 per page is way too slow to go through.
As I said, at the top right of the first list of results, click "show results as list". You will not have to see ten per page.
Ok, but is there any way to increase the number of the global search. It searches differently and that can be useful in certain circumstances.

That's what I've been talking about. Do a global search. See the first ten results. Then click on "show results as list". You will see all the results.
One reason you may see different results is that you must identify the folders that you want global search to search. Right click on a folder name, select "Properties", then "Include messages in this folder in global search results".
