If this is still a problem, please clarify the issue, as I do not understand that you need to log out? Thank you
There was a problem with my internet carrier, which has since been solved, but now I can not get Thunderbird to download any of my emails. The page comes up, but when I hit "get messages" nothing happens.
I was thinking if I could log out of the program and sign back in it might work.
Are there any error messages? What do you mean by 'the page comes up?'
as you can see from the picture, I have not been able to get emails since September 3. When I hit "Get Messages" nothing happens. It's not asking me to sign in anymore, but it's not doing anything. I just thought maybe if you signed out and signed back in, it might fix the issue like when you turn your computer or phone off and then restart it.
Try removing the entries for the account from Saved Passwords in Settings/Privacy & Security, then restart TB and see if you're prompted for the password. If nothing happens, access the account in webmail and check for a message that is possibly blocking mail arriving since the 3rd from being downloaded to TB.
How would I know what message is blocking mail from arriving? I can access my emails through Altafiber our internet supplier.
In webmail, start with the first message that arrived after downloading to TB stopped, delete it, and see if the other messages appear in TB with 'Get Messages', or select another folder then open Inbox. Repeat with subsequent messages until the blockage is fixed. Empty the webmail Trash and Spam/Junk.
