Message selection changed.
Recently my message selection shortcuts changed. Until a few weeks ago, I could select a range of messages by clicking on the first, depressing shift, then clicking on the last message in the range. Since then, I have had to select a range of messages by clicking on the first, depressing ctrl+shift, then clicking on the last message in the range. What changed, and how do I change back to using only the shift key?

I'm using Windows 11 OS I've just tested this in versions : 128.14.0esr and also beta 143.0b2 I tested in both Table view and also Cards view.
select an email Press and hold down 'Shift' whilst clicking on an email lower down list. all emails in between and those selected are now highlighted In the Message Pane it says: X conversations and offers the options 'Archive' and 'Delete'
I'm not able to reproduce the issue. It works as expected.
Are you using a different OS ? What version of Thunderbird are you using?
Please test doing the following:
- In Thunderbird
- Help > Troubleshoot Mode
- Click on 'Restart'
- Select 'Continue in Troubleshoot mode'
Test selecting a batch of emails and report on results. If it now suddenly works then you need to see what addon extensions you are using as one or more may be causing the issue.
