In thunderbird we had to reconfigure our in/out port selections due to what we were told was a tech bud that is known but not fixed yet. After we did that thunderbird automatically duplicated folders inbox, drafts, sent, junk, trash, archives, etc. We did not want that to happen. So all new inbox emails go directly to the "new" inbox. How do we get rid of the new folders and revert back to the older set of folders?? HELP!

What did you change and how did you change it? It sounds like you created another mail account.

Please provide some information

  • What OS are you using?
  • What version of Thunderbird are you using?

In Thunderbird

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • Scroll down to 'Mail and News Accounts' section
  • Copy all the info in that section and paste it into this question in forum OR post an image showing the data.

Upload some images to this website showing:

  • Account Settings > Server Settings for the account
  • and the 'Outgoing Server (SMTP)' server settings for the account.

Also post an image that shows:

  • the entire Folder Pane - so we can see the issue you mention.

What bug are you talking about ? You do not alter server settings due to a 'bug'. That does not sound correct. Server Settings are very specific to the server you use. The server dictates what must be used not Thunderbird. You also have to use the correct server settings for the type of mail account you are using. You cannot mix Pop server settings and Imap server settings.
