Messages come in marked as read
I am getting message that are marked as read. They are usually phishing messages.How are they getting marked as read? They avoid the "Junk" filter by doing this.

The most common basis for messages appearing in Thunderbird as read, is they are already read, or downloaded, to another device like a phone or tablet.
How various servers report mail status is a configuration issue on the server so there are no hard and fast rules. But generally the mail has been accessed on another device. Or forwarded to another email address.
