I am getting the error SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_CRITICAL_EXTENSION on every page i open. I have looked around and tried to fix it using similar error messages but nothing has worked. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but nothing has worked.

Can anyone help me as there is nothing online that i can find that will fix this.

Hi

Do you have an example of a website where this is happening?

There's an unresolved discussion in an old thread.

Are you using a proxy or VPN?

You can check the connection settings.

  • Settings -> General -> Network: Connection -> Settings

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

See "Firefox connection settings":

Just a quick update. I downloaded version 77 and it works fine. I then re-downloaded version 101.1 and it worked. although i got the error SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER on all sites. I then followed another fix where i went to about:config then security.enterprise and changed this to true.

All good. Well so far!!
