Some settings in Thunderbird seem to be global and some local- any reference to which are which?
I have three computers and I have been setting up Thunderbird on all of then, connecting to an Outlook account via IMAP.
I know that I have two tabs- Account Settings Options
On the first computer, when I set up IMAP to me@myself.mail, I had to subscribe to all my Outlook folders.
On the second computer, when I set up IMAP, all the folders just showed up at the start and Thunderbird started downloading.
I was a bit surprised by this. I thought a clean install on a computer would require I redo the entire setup.
I was planning to just read e-mail on two computers and save all the extra sync time and was surprised that the folders showed up and started downloading.
I don't think any other settings were remembered.
Is there somewhere to look that explains what will affect every Thunderbird install connecting to me@myself.mail and what is local to the particular computer?

IF you are asking about defaults, there are thousands of them and no, there is no documentation on them beyond the source code of the program.
A standard query of the server will discover the folders at connection. This however is affected by the setting in Server settings > advance to show only subscribes folder... the default is off as most folks expect to add an account and see all of their folders.
