Hi thanks for your support. I downloaded dictionary from a Thunderbird message screen as you suggest and got the flag "loaded to Firefox" The language box in thunderbird is still blank and spell checker does not work. This has occurred in recent weeks. Best Lez

I have the same problem: I have downloaded and installed the British English Dictionary through the Add-on Manager, and then restarted Thunderbird--but when I right click on 'Language' in the spell check dialogue, it just says 'Download more dictionaries', as if I don't have one installed.

Which dictionaries, names and versions, are installed in Tools/Add-ons/Dictionaries? Maybe you have to install an update for TB 68:
