When at a web site, some words are double underlined. When the mouse icon is hovered over it, a pop up ad with a purple flag in the upper left and Geo Ad in the lower right appears. I would like to disable this. When Firefox loads, I notice it opening Purple Flag.

Thanks Edward, the problem was srv.purpleflag.net which was evidently hidden in Shockwave/flash. Chukkar

Hi Chukkar,

Please start firefox in safe mode and see if the problem still occurs: Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox.

If not then I think the problem will be one of your add-ons. To identify the problem add-on follow the steps in this article under Disable All Extensions: Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems

Thanks for your reply avrumi This does not entirely clear up the problem. If I opt out of a certain ad and then refresh the browser, that ad disappears, but there are still others that do not.
