In TB 155.01 when I click on Delete the email leaves my Inbox but does not display in the Deleted folder. If I look at Properties in the Deleted folder it shows the correct number of messages in there but the messages themselves do not show in the right hand window. Thus there is no way of seeing what the messages are, just the total quantity in the folder.

After a long explanation, I tried to add a file and lost everything. Starting over! After using TB for over 30 years, I accumulated a large number of personal folders to archive files to. Due to confusion on my part about pass words in Proton Mail and their Bridge, I had to reinstall my ProtonMail account into Thunderbird. Because all my personal folders were connected with the old "account" name, I didn't remove it, and the new addition seemed to be working fine.

After doing some house cleaning to remove duplicate and obsolete files, I wanted to move the folders attached to the old account name, under the new name. I thought I could carefully move my personal folders from the old account, back under the new Protonmail account. Sadly, that doesn't work like that. What I did find was that the original folders which come under the original "account", were created with an older version of TB, which put them in a folder on my HD. But the new default folders ("inbox", "draft", "sent" etc.) are mirrors of the Protonmail Bridge, which is NOT what I want.

So I need someone that knows how to either place the old folders back under the NEW "account", or how to create new folders that ARE on the HD, and then move the files from one place to the other.

Just to help clarify, here's the location of the old folders as per the "properties" info.

You can see the address for this folder is on my Drive E: I can go directly to that address on my drive E and see each of the files.

This folder is from the NEW account of Protonmail - bridge, and is obviously the web address of Protonmail. It is NOT editable, unlike the above location on my HD E:.

I try to set up gmail but get the message "Error Creating Account Incoming server already exists."

I have my main Spectrum email set up fine but I have no idea where to even begin with setting up gmail since I get the message above.

I went out of the USA on May to Ecuador and Peru, and on the same day the Android version of Thunderbird stopped retrieving new email from the server. I have used Thunderbird pointed to the same server on Windows 11 and Android successfully for years. I thought it might be something to do with being out of the country, but now I'm back in the USA, and sync account on Android still does not retrieve new mail that has accumulated since May 4th. I've been following my email using a webmail access so I know there's lots of new mail. I've closed and reopened Thunderbird on the Android, and I've tried sync account with the webmail access closed. I have not yet tried Thunderbird on my windows 11 laptop because I'm still not home yet. Any suggestions welcomed, thank you for your help! I am trying to set up a new email address with Thunderbird. I have copied all the imap and smtp settings from my old address in to the new one. It is now asking for a password but I have not been asked to set up a new password for the new address. Where do I go from here?

I was adding some filters for senders to move emails to my local folders and such, and then I ran the filters. For whatever reason, when I ran the filters this time, thunderbird also seemingly deleted all emails from some of my web email inboxes. The only one that wasn't affected by this inbox wipe was my school email(gmail provider). How can I prevent this from happening again?

I have to find a new email carrier. 1) Is there a cost to Thunderbird email and is it the same as Thundermail? 2) Can I transfer my current email messages to be saved? 3) Can I use Thunderbird mail inside of Microsoft Outlook like is the case with my current email? 4) And current email is embedded inside of Gmail on my mobile phone. How would Thunderbird work on my phone?

I am in the midst of the long process of moving most (not all!) of my gmail from the gmail server to TBird, using filters as discussed in this thread.

I've started by first using filters on less important emails (ie so that no true disaster occurs if something goes horribly wrong). As I do so, I have questions!

For example, let's say I use a filter to: copy all the emails from @someone.org to a local folder then delete those emails (from the server)

What happens if one of those emails happens to be within a thread, including emails from people who don't match the filter (ie are not @someone.org). Have I broken the thread forever, ie, has something gone horribly wrong? If so, how do I prevent this behavior/have the entire thread move along with the targeted value? If not, I don't see how I can move email without breaking threads, which is a bit of a problem.

(Also - whoops, I see I should update, but the question remains.)

Trying to set up you Thunderbird Im used to Outlook. The setup here is not the same and it won't connect. The "Manual Account Configuration" is not the same as the pictures here. Pic 1 = What your system picked Pic 2-3 = Is whats in my Outlook pick 4 = is what happens.

In your help: "Manual Account Configuration" These pictures look nothing like what I see in your setup I could use some help. Im uninstalling Microsoft 365 and replacing it with LibreOffice and Thunderbird.

Id rather donate than have 365 main Email is home@barrysplace.ca AS you can see, im using a email that i rarely use. dont want to mess with the main ones

I have three AOL accounts for various reasons. Until recently, all three were available and working in Thunderbird - no issues. A few days ago on start-up, I had a pop-up requesting indicating that my password for one of these accounts had not been recognised in Thunderbird. The account was working fine on another device, ipad. Re-entering the password didn't give me access to the account, and in desperation I deleted the account from Thunderbird. I then tried to re-create it, but although Thunderbird shows all the correct(?) details in the account settings, it actually just gets all the ...box contents from another of my accounts. Does anyone have any ideas how Thunderbird references existing account when add a new mail account, or how to stop Thunderbird referencing an existing account please?

My thunderbird would not open. Said the file location couldn’t be found. I read online it recommended that I uninstall the application and reinstall. This fixed my issue with being able to access thunderbird but during the install all of my local folders were removed. Is there anyway I can get these back? I also lost all of my address book contacts.

I am trying to add my new email address to the thunderbird app for Windows and running into issues syncing it through IMAP settings. The process seems to go smoothly until it gets to the point where I have to enter my email password. After I enter my password and hit "continue" I get the following error message:

Component returned failure code: 0x804b000a (NS_ERROR_MALFORMED_URI) [nsIIOService.newURI]

I have attached the screen shots of my process, as well as the IMAP and SMTP settings from my email provider.

Any help I can get in troubleshooting this error would be greatly appreciated.
