My broswer profiles logout comletely on update or sometimes

amoun replied
Muhammad Bilal Hassan

I’m honestly fed up with this issue. **How is this even acceptable?** Every time I update Firefox, or sometimes completely randomly, my entire Firefox profile gets logged out.

And it’s not just my Firefox account. **All the websites and services I’m logged into get logged out as well — including my email accounts and other websites where I have active sessions.** I then have to go through the ridiculous process of logging back into everything again.

This has happened **8 TIMES already.** Eight times! This is not a one-time bug or a minor inconvenience anymore. It is seriously disrupting my work and wasting my time.

I need to know **WHY Firefox keeps doing this** and why an ordinary browser update is apparently capable of destroying all my active login sessions. If this is a bug, it needs to be fixed. If it’s caused by a setting, update, or profile issue, then tell me exactly what is causing it and how to stop it.

I’ve used Firefox expecting it to reliably keep my profile and sessions intact. Having to repeatedly log back into my email accounts and every other website is completely unacceptable.

    • Please don’t just send me a generic “restart Firefox” or “clear your cache” response.** I’ve already dealt with this issue 8 times. I want an actual explanation and a proper solution.

Please take this seriously and investigate what is happening to my profile and login sessions.

Thanks.

    • WHY Firefox keeps doing this**

Sad to hear you think this is not taken seriously but this is a forum of users, not developers.

So no advice to try this and that as it seems you are fed up with the same old ideas.

Firefox isn't a sentient entity so is not doing anything but clearly you do have an unpleasant setup.

This could easily be a Windows issue.

Windows keeps a log of what you do, it keeps a registry edit of the install and parameters, and they will keep if you [Shut down]

The option to [Restart] Windows does give Windows an option to reset some registered data, so if you haven't tried that it would be worth doing to rule it out.

OK As for generic responses, well sadly memory is just that. Have you also remove all site data, which may help in the case of the odd site, but loosing all.

Do you have another Browser to try?

Have you checked Windows taskbar to see how much memory you are using and try Fx with minimal tabs etc. for a while.

If it is a memory issue it could actually be a RAM problem.

How much RAM do you have

It's difficult to respond to such an all over query

As far as the updates go, are they Windows automated or do you elect to update?

Apologies if you find this response useless or/and annoying

All the best
