I am using Firefox v140.0.1 Snap on Kubuntu 25.04, Kernel 6.14. Since the Firefox update in the past couple days, the mouse cursor has started appearing huge and slightly blurry (as though the image is scaled up) in Firefox and nowhere else. The size is visually annoying, and occasionally difficult to know exactly where I'm clicking (trying to move the caret in a text box for example). It also appears to be a different style from the main desktop cursor, the shape and color are ever so slightly different, but this may already have been the case and I simply didn't notice because of the previously small size. Firefox doesn't have its own built in cursor settings that I can find, nor obey the system cursor settings. I have a high DPI display so perhaps it is being over-compensated for? e.g. both the system and Firefox are scaling the cursor up, assuming the other hasn't done it already, resulting in a cursor that's too big.

Found this blog post that describes exactly the problem I was having, it's related to GTK and Wayland and I guess Firefox was the only GTK app I use often enough to notice. Then today while searching for a solution, I updated Firefox and my OS again and the problem has been fixed for me in the latest version. I guess good things come to those who wait.

Desktop? X11 or Wayland? Same issue with other users? Did you try with Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode#w_how-to-start-firefox-in-4troubleshoot-modesf5safe-modesf Try downloading Firefox from Mozilla, run firefox-bin from the folder and see if you have the same issue. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release

I'm on Wayland. The problem still occurs in troubleshoot mode. Here is the terminal output from the troubleshoot mode session, I do see a lot of errors about cursor scale in there but I don't know how to go about resolving them. Terminal Output on Pastebin

Those error also include Wayland. Switch to X11 and see what happens. Do you have the same issue with another user account? You should post that pastebin info on your OS forum, I'm sure someone will have experienced the same issue. Another test would be to download Firefox from Mozilla and see if you have the same issues. Link is in previous post.
