Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.mozilla.org.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

This message I get it since few days without any reason at all! Just I got it at once! I can open all websites on other brouwsers except Firefox, I tried with another computer and it's OK. My computer is Windows 7 with i7 processor and 12 GB RAM, it's just few months old, everything works smooth even Firefox until 3 days ago.

So, what's the problem? and where? what can I do to fix it please?

Thank you very much,

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Hi cor-el,

Thank you very much for your kindly answer. But unfortunately I didn't made any update for Firefox, Antivirus or Windows when I get Firefox problem. And I double checked and looked to remove all rules for Firefox from Firewall and Norton antivirus, I did the permissions for Firefox. Removed all add-ons and plugins from Firefox, then I delete everything from Firefox and make it completely NEW... But nothing works and still the same error massege (Unable to connect).

Any other suggestion please?

Thank you,

Thank you Quaestor, for you detailed answer.

And as you read the "missed" detail... I'm IT'r and can build computers as well, but this problem was very strange, why is it only on my "SUPER" pc!? Why not on other computers too since all my comuters at the same router and IP? Why all websites doesn't work on Firefox but other brouwsers? Why is it now at this date and not earlier? I didn't anything wrong or update or upgrade... so what's the problem exactely? :(

Maybe still do another check and boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
