So I have a password program to allow easy access to passwords and you have now screwed that up. Do I buy a new program or not update firefox? Well done.
Two paid for programs are affected by this change. Every freaking time I have to update I need to get a new update for at least one program. IE is looking better and better. However maybe Chrome first. And with my wife the update hyjacked her homepage and removed from view her Menu Bar. And I have to have Google search! Why did she have to be forced to use it? First I fixed the homepage. Then I fixed the disappearing Menu Bar Then I got rid of Google as much as I can. This is becoming a real pain. Always having to get my homepage back. I will resist the update as long as I can. As Queen E. would say "We are not amused."

Let me number these problems so they are easier to address:
(1) Password Manager - which program is not compatible with Firefox 21?
(2) Other paid program - which program is not compatible with Firefox 21?
We know that some security suite toolbars take a while to update. It's a trade-off between the benefits of the toolbars and the risks of the fixed security vulnerabilities in Firefox; tough call.
(3) Home page change - what home page was your wife using before vs. what was displayed after?
(4) Menu bar - the display changed from the classic menu bar to the orange Firefox button (compact menu)?
(5) Which search changed: address bar, search box, other?
On #3, #4 and #5, it sounds as though one or more preferences files might have gotten lost or become corrupted during the update. It's rare, but seems to happen now and then. If you don't already make regular backups of the Firefox profile folder, that might be useful in case this happens again.
