After Firefox is downloaded, how do I add it to my applications?

I am trying to add Firefox to my computer. I clicked on the download and it shows up in the downloads, but I can't figure out how to get it into my applications. So, I do not have Firefox on my computer. I want to add it. It happens every time I have tried to get it put on.
