When I open Mozilla a security alert dialog box opens saying "in.toolbar.yahoo.com:443" saying it is an invalid security certificate. Due to this i cannot open tabs, or after opening, I cannot go back to an earlier opened page.

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode?

Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."

If not, see this:

Does that error message include details why that security certificate is invalid?

Is the system date and time correct?
(double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.
